This model is applied to study the thermal heat problem of a homogeneous and isotropic long cylinder due to initial stress and heat source. We use the Laplace transform method to solve the problem. The numerical solutions for the field functions are obtained numerically using the numerical Laplace inversion technique. The effect of the higher-order parameters, the initial stress, the magnitude of the heat source and the instant time on the temperature field, the displacement field, and the stress fields have been calculated and displayed graphically and the obtained results are discussed. The results are compared with those obtained previously in the contexts of some other models of thermoelasticity.
