Announcing the new Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics”

We would like to officially announce that Professor Shapour Moradi is stepping down from his role as the Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics”. Over the past nine years, the journal has flourished under his brilliant leadership and expertise. We would like to sincerely thank Professor Moradi for his yeoman service to the journal – it has been a pleasure to work with him.

It is a great honor and privilege for me to be appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics” beginning on the 1st of February 2024. In this first letter, I would like to cordially thank my peers, colleagues and all editorial board members who have manifested sincere and total support to my indication. It is undoubtedly a great challenge to contribute to the most important scientific journal of Mechanics in Iran.

I am especially grateful to our Director-in-Charge, Prof. Kourosh Heidari Shirazi, for his excellent management and for handing on a well-structured and organized journal to me. What I learned during his management, as well as his support, substantiated my decision to accept the position of Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics”.

We are also very pleased to welcome Dr. Reza Mosalmani as the journal’s new Managing Editor as of February 1 2024. In addition to his role as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Dr. Mosalmani has collaborated with JACM as a distinguished reviewer, over the past years.

Several actions have been planned to speed up the article review process of our journal and make it more attractive to the authors. With the constant progress of science and of its outreach channels, the JACM needs to be prepared to keep up with such changes and innovations.

Thanks a lot to you ALL for your valuable collaborations and support to JACM and look forward to hearing your invaluable comments and recommendations to enhance the quality of the journal.

With best regards
Hamid M. Sedighi
Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics”
